GECAD in the limelight of the Seventeenth Edition of REN Award

 

GECAD researcher Tiago Manuel Campelos Ferreira Pinto received the 2nd REN Award (REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais) for his work entitled "Adaptive Learning in Agents Behaviour: A Framework for Electricity Markets Simulation", a work supervised by Prof. Zita Vale, Director of GECAD, and co-supervised by Prof. Fátima Rodrigues.

The award is worth €6.500,00. It was also awarded an honorable mention to the researcher João André Pinto Soares for his work entitled "Modified Particle Swarm Optimization for Day-Ahead Distributed Energy Resources Scheduling Including Vehicle-to-Grid" supervised by Prof. Zita Vale and co-supervised by Dr. Hugo Morais. Both authors had already received Certificates of Merit in Scientific Publication of the Polytechnic of Porto (IPP) in 2011 for articles published in scientific journals from the first 10% of the scientific rankings of the respective areas, thereby contributing to increase the "Excellence Rate" of the Polytechnic of Porto in the world rankings.
